Carl W. Bowers Sr., 67, of Claysville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, in The Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. He married Valerie Lynn Calcek on May 16, 1970, and who died June 27, 2010. Surviving are a son, Matthew Scott, husband of Tara Bowers, of Pittsburgh; a daughter-in-law, Sherri L. Bowers, of Denbo; and a brother, Charles M., husband of Dottie Bowers, of Washington, Pa. Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are a son, Carl W. Bowers Jr.; and a brother, Kenneth W. Bowers. Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES INC., Claysville, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, with the Rev. Rico Vespa officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of RUSH FUNERAL HOME INC., Rogersville.
