She Received Her education at Charleton Pollard High School in Beaumont, Texas. Thelma Lewis was employed with the F. F. Mint for over 25 years.
She met and later united in holy matrimony with Arthur Lewis in Beaumont, Texas.
She was a dedicated worker for God in Sunday School, The Mary Circle, and the Mission. She was president to the Women's Missionary Union (WMU) for 10 years. She was also a member of The Eastern Star and the I.L.W.U. Wives.
She traveled the world visiting, Hawaii, Jerusalem, Soul South Korea, and attended the 18th Baptist World Congress in Melbourne Australia where she brought in the year 2000. Thelma Lewis attend Church regularly until her health failed. She will be deeply missed by those she loved and those who loved her.
Thelma R. Lewis departed this life on October 2, 2014 and was preceded in death by James Bennett, father, Hannah S. Bennett, mother; beloved husband, Arthur Lewis; Samantha Bennett, sister; Audery Bennett, brother; Birdie Mae Bennett, Sister; Herman Bennett, brother.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, Clarence Bennett (Henda), brother; Glady M. Morffet, sister; Laura D. Esclovon, sister, Joe I. Bennett (Lovinia) brother; niece and long time Caregiver Gladys M. Esclovon, a host of nieces, nephews, and other love ones, special friends, and her church family.
