Sandra Jean Henson, 72, of Sharpsburg, Md., passed away Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. Born April 20, 1942, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late John Elmer Miller Sr. and Mildred Louise Thomas Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hamilton Henson, Jr., in 1986.

She was a 1960 graduate of Boonsboro High School, Boonsboro, Md. She was employed by Alkahn Label Mill, Williamsport, Md., for many years. She was presently employed at Nutter’s Ice Cream in Sharpsburg. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Sharpsburg. She was a member of Clopper-Michael Post 10 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Boonsboro, and Red Feather Council 59 Degree of Pocahontas, Williamsport.

Survivors include her son, Richard H. Henson III, Hagerstown; daughter, Debra S. Nutter, Sharpsburg; daughter, Brenda K. Kretzer, of Boonsboro; two granddaughters and one grandson; four great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley A. Cook, Boonsboro; sister, Susan R. McGlaughlin, Sharpsburg; brother, Samuel G. Miller, Williamsport; brother, Ronald E. Miller, Sharpsburg; foster sister, Doris Stallings, Sharpsburg; foster sister, Connie Church, Boonsboro; and foster brother, Raymond Thomas, Boonsboro.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Henson; son-in-law, Donnie Nutter; brothers, John Miller Jr. and Charles Miller; foster sisters, Bonnie Miller, Virginia Keesecker and Cindy Thomas; and foster brothers, Samuel Thomas and Henry Keesecker.

Funeral services were held at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport; interment was at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
