Mr. Eugene Byrd Dame, 77, of Nebo, KY, died Monday, June 12, 2006, at 9:25 P.M., at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Born September 8, 1928, in Hopkins County, KY, he was the son of the late Daniel Byrd Dame and Hattie Curtwright Dame Rhew. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Davis Howard Crowe.
Mr. Dame was a farmer and a member of Tirzah Primitive Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of American Legion Post 6.
He is survived by his wife, Jean C. Dame of Nebo; one son, Clay Dame of Benton, KY, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 15, 2006, at 2:00 P.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Elders John Smith and Jim Downey officiating. Burial will follow in Tirzah Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, 2006, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and from 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Dukes, Joe Copeland, Phillip Osburn, Richard Osburn, Keith Kelley and Danny Peyton.
