Marian had 7 children, 2 children with Joe Renner and 5 with (Zeuhlke)...6 daughters and one son.

Marian had a colorful life. As a very attractive young woman in Southern California who had an interest in theater, she was drawn to the "new" theater and had roles in several silent-screen movies before she met Joe Renner. Their mutual interest in theater is what drew them together. Joe had been in several college productions, and as a law student at Georgetown had starring roles in several. In her later life Marian enjoyed art, theater, and literature and involved herself in the community as a volunteer in several related organizations. Her favorite work was with the John Steinbeck house in Salinas, California as a member of the Valley Guild, where she advocated for its preservation and served as a volunteer tour guide and museum archivist, and which was the location of her 90th birthday celebration. A most remarkable interest for a woman of her generation was her adherence to principles of yoga, and she continued her daily yoga routines well into her 90's.

Her mother contracted TB (and died) at a young age and when Marian was only a small child the family moved from Wisconsin to San Diego so that her mother, Carrie Alice Tuttle Hallada could enter a sanatorium there. Marian was cared for by her grandmother, (Mary Haznow Hallada) and a great Aunt who never married, as well as by her father. Marian was the only child and only grandchild. There are hundreds of pictures of her as a small child which was very rare for that era. Being in front of the camera and acting must have become a major component of her life. It led to her chosen passion.

Marian was very energetic and active and appreciated the "artsy" side of life - she collected art and books and threw her entire soul into her community volunteer work.

by her granddaughter.
