RICHARD BOGGS EOLIA, KY- Richard “ Stork” Boggs, 55, entered into eternity Friday October 3, 2014 from his home on Roberts Branch, Eolia, KY after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was a Christian and an Elder of the Millstone Primitive Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Richard enjoyed being in church, time he spent with his family, hunting, fishing and gardening. Richard loved being a coal miner and was very proud of it. If you asked him what the three most important things in life were, his answer would be…God first, a loving wife second and you could pick the third.
Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Janet (Adams) Boggs; his parents, Ethrie (Esser) and Virgie Parson Boggs; a grandson, Levi Brock; brothers, Delmar Boggs, Elmer Boggs and James Boggs.
Survivors include his daughters, Mary Maggard and husband Jody-Eolia, KY, Susan Boggs- Jenkins, KY, Ashley Boggs-Pound, VA and Barbara Hammonds and husband Chris- Eolia, KY; grandchildren, Jacob Maggard, Jeremiah Maggard,Cheyeanne Maggard, Richard Hammonds, Alexis Hammonds, Mollie “Fingers McGee” Hammonds, and one on the way; sisters, Wilma Watkins-Florida, , Dorothy Aguaya-Florida, Learie Bowman and husband Leo-Michigan, Laura Adams and husband Dave-Florida, Barbara Jewell Adams-Eolia, KY and Connie Collier-Indiana; brothers, Willard Boggs and wife Jenny- Partridge, KY, Junior Ray Boggs-Shelbyville, IN and Marvin Boggs-Tennessee; special adoptive children, Bud Adams, Jessica Rasnake and Brandy Mullins; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday October 6, 2014 the Millstone Primitive Baptist Church on Roberts Branch- Eolia, KY with Elders of the Church and any Guest who wish to speak officiating.
Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery on Roberts Branch- Eolia, KY. The family will receive friends after 12:00 Noon on Sunday October 5, 2014 at the Millstone Primitive Baptist Church on Roberts Branch with a 7:00 pm evening service.
