April Lynn Spencer Williams

On April 24, 1958, April Lynn was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In just a few weeks, she went to Ulysses, Kansas and that was where she started school. She later moved to a farm north of Ulysses and attended school in Lakin, Kansas. She started high school in Hutchinson, Kansas, then the family moved to Amarillo, and April went to Amarillo High.

As an adult, she lived in Garden City, Kansas but later returned to Amarillo where she met and married Wayland Williams. Their two children were born in Amarillo. Again, wanderlust struck and they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. April spent most of her adult years in Corpus, but moved back to Amarillo in 2000.

Although April had several short-term jobs, including Western Merchandisers, and Toot’n Totum, her primary occupation was homemaker.

April Lynn went to sleep on October 5, 2014, and was welcomed to Heaven by her beloved grandparents, Lowell and Pauline Damon. She is greatly missed by her daughter, Dana Michelle Williams, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and her son, Damon Williams, of Huntsville, Texas, and the delight of her life, her
granddaughter, Krysten Williams, of Amarillo.

Also surviving April, are her parents, Norman and Dolores Spencer, of Amarillo, her sister, Melinda Spencer of Rancho Cucamonga, California, her niece, Grace Verrinder of Upland, California, her two uncles and their wives, Darrel and Janet Damon of Ulysses, Kansas and Don and Julie Damon of Edinburg, Texas, nine cousins and many other friends and family.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, in First Christian Church Chapel with the Rev. Barry Loving officiating.
