Mr. Clifford Eugene “Gene” Reynolds, age 80, husband of Mildred Lawson Reynolds of 121 Hayes Drive, Union, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at his home. He was formerly of Bobo Street, Union.
Mr. Reynolds was born in Union, SC July 25, 1934, a son of the late Etoy Reynolds and Eloise Cargill Reynolds. He was a retired Sargent from the South Carolina National Guard, Union Unit after twenty-seven years of service. Mr. Reynolds had worked at Monarch Mill and was formerly employed with Bill Eison Television Service and Repair.
Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty-three years are two daughters: Terri Moore and husband John and Debra Jane Boulware and husband Amos all of Union; a son, James Michael Reynolds of Union; a sister, Margaret J. Watson and husband Harold of Union; nine grandchildren: David Holcombe and wife Donna, Sarah Stevenson and husband Wade, Dennis Reynolds and wife Dana, Christy Lyles and husband Travis, Melanie Moore, April Palmer and husband Clay, Amber Crocker and husband John, John Boulware and Doug Lanier, Becky Boulware and April Davis and eleven great-grandchildren. Mr. Reynolds was predeceased by a daughter, Beth R. Holcombe and a sister Ruth Shope.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner. Burial will be in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Active pallbearers will be John Boulware, Dennis Reynolds, David Holcombe, Doug Lanier, John Crocker and Billy Beheler.
Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 PM Saturday in the chapel prior to the service.
