"Mrs. Amelia (sic) Ackman, wife of the late Lilburn H. Ackman, departed this life June 10, 1914, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Marksberry, near Sparta, Kentucky. Mrs. Ackman was born in 1842, being 72 years of age.
"Her remains were brought to Layton Chapel and services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Evans, pastor, at the home of H. C. Ackman.
"Mrs. Ackman had for many years been a member of the Layton Chapel Church, joining in her girlhood. She was faithful to her church and family. Her husband preceded her to the better land.
"She leaves two sons and two daughters, also a son and daughter preceded her to the beyond.
"Her remains were interred in the Ackman Cemetery."
