STURGIS, MI – Matthew Dalgleish Russell, 82, of Sturgis passed away at 8:25 p.m. Monday October 6, 2014 at his home.

He was born on September 17, 1932 in Oakland, CA to the late Matthew & Margaret (Trimble) Russell of Belfast, North Ireland.

On March 25, 1961 in San Francisco, CA he married Barbara Beim, she survives. Also surviving are: 3 sons, Matthew (Jenny) Russell of Granger, IN, Peter Russell of Sturgis and Scott (Courtney) Russell of Kalamazoo, 4 grandchildren; Annie, Abbie, both of Granger, IN, Elliot, Lucie, both of Kalamazoo.

He was preceded in death by his parents. A private memorial service will be held in Matthew’s honor at a later date.

Matthew served in the U.S. Army in 1952, he also worked as a corporate pilot for Bayer. Memorial donations may be given to Three Rivers Hospice.

Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
