Hans (John) arrived in Philadelphia at the age of about 16 on Sept. 16,1748, via the Ship Patience, John Brown, Master from Rotterdam, last from Cowes. John took part of his father's farm at Jonestown. On July 3, 1767 he purchased 62 acres, 76 p. from his father for $373, land bounded by Hans Wenger and Stephen Wenger. The Bethel Twp., tax rolls for 177172 show Jno WingardWingart with 105 and then 100 acres. Died in Lebanon County. His will was dated June 16, 1800 and probated in August 1806 (will Book C Vol. 1, page 13, Dauphin Co.) John is specified in his brother Christian's will as his executor. The name is there spelled John Wingert. He left his farm to his oldest son Christian.
His will gives his children as: Christian, John, Martin, Abraham, Jacob, Barbara, Franica, Elizabeth, Susanna and Anna, but no married names are given. His will also gives a step daughter Catherine Huber. There is no mention of his wife in his will. It is assumed that she died in the 1790s.
