She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael Arlen Burns of Melbourne; son, Brian Todd Burns; daughter-in-law, Victoria Burns; and grandson, Michael David Burns, all of Atlanta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Kempfer.
Karen was a loving wife to her husband and a caring mother to her son. She was also a loving support to her daughter-in-law, and a doting “Grammy” to her grandson.
She lived a blessed life, caring for others as a Registered Nurse in several capacities, including pediatrics, emergency and hospice.
Karen and Mike retired to Viera, FL in 2008. She was an inspiration of ceaseless joy and overflowing happiness to her family. Though she is dearly missed, her love and compassionate spirit will be with us through our lives.
Karen will be laid to rest on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Florida Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Melbourne, FL.
