Gilbert G. Lyons, 84, of Friendship Ridge, formerly of Beaver, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, in The Medical Center, Beaver.
Born Aug. 8, 1918, in Coal Center, Pa., he was a son of the late Grant and Lula McDonough Lyons. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the New Brighton American Legion, Anderson-Adkins Post 19, and the First Congregational Church, Beaver Falls. He was also a volunteer at The Medical Center, Beaver. Gilbert had retired from the Maintenance Department of Westinghouse Electric Company in Vanport with 35 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Leonard, Charles, Henry, Howard and Raymond Lyons, and two sisters, Sarah Austin and Margaret Stimmel.
Surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, Grant and Ethel Lyons, Eastvale, and Allan Lyons, Brownsville.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Ralph Y. Scott, officiating.
Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Brownsville.
