Mr. Grant was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 10, 1953 a son of the late Archie Lee Grant, Sr. and the late Marie (Heggs) Grant. He was retired from Lewis Engineering where he had worked as an electroplater for many years and was a member of the Redeeming Love Tabernacle of Praise Church of God In Christ Church in Waterbury. He enjoyed Cooking and barbecuing.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Grant is survived by 4 sons: John W. Peel of VT., James M. Robinson and his wife Carol of New Britain, Mark A. Peel of Waterbury and Neville Daley and his wife Tonya of Waterbury, 3 sisters: Fannie Green and her husband Samuel of Jacksonville, FL., Willie Mae Pitmann of Jacksonville, FL., and Jacquelyn L. Grant of Jacksonville, FL., a brother: Tommy Grant of Jacksonville, FL., 17 grandchildren including Debra M. Peel and John W. Peel, Jr. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son: Nathan E. Peel and a brother: Archie Lee Grant, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 10, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the Redeeming Love Tabernacle of Praise Church of God In Christ 34 Bishop St. Waterbury. Burial will be in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held at the church on Friday October 10, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m.
