She was a loving mother and homemaker. She also worked at the Marion County Children’s Shelter as a housemother for more than four years.
Mrs. Gum loved her family and cherished her time with them.
She is survived by one son T. David Slaughter of Fairmont; three daughters Mary Lou Kittle and her husband Ronald of Fairmont, Judy Workman and her husband Wayne of Charleston and Loraine Jolliff and her husband Dave of Fairmont; one sister Irene Carter of Fairmont six grandchildren Ronald Kittle Jr., Bryan Kittle, Corrina Haney, Angela Morris, Joseph Dotts, and David Dotts; and fifteen great grandchildren
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
