DAGSBORO — Ronald T. "Britt" Brittingham of Dagsboro died Sunday, March 19, 2006, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 89.

He was born in Millsboro, son of the late Charles and Alice (Truitt) Brittingham.

Mr. Brittingham was a World War II Army medic. He was in the Normandy Invasion, Battle of the Ardennes, the Northern France Campaign and the Rhineland.

He had been a business manager for Eastern States, Agway and Southern States. He also served in Sussex County government for 10 years, in charge of security.

Mr. Brittingham was past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7422 in Millsboro, and was a member of Post 19 American Legion in Laurel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Adolphus Brittingham and Harland Brittingham; and a sister, Emily Welch.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lois (Wilder) Brittingham; a son and his companion, Craig Brittingham and Dawn Carroll of Laurel; a sister, Ruth Shields of Boston; a grandson, Stephen Brittingham; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Brittingham.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Robert Hudson will officiate.

Burial with military honors will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Patriots Way, Millsboro
