Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Light Ministers with Bishop Richard and Pastor Eleanor Murray, pastors, and Elder Ira L. King Sr. as eulogist. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.
Donnie was born Nov. 29, 1956, in Lockney to Minuard and Josephine King Jr. He was a twin and the sixth of 13 children.
After graduating from Petersburg High School in 1975, he moved to Amarillo. Donnie was employed with Pantex for more than 30 years.
He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose life touched many people. Donnie loved spending time with his family. Always smiling, he was best known for his barbecue and often called King of the Grill.
Survivors include his fiancée, Sharon Scott; a son, Donnie King Jr. and fiancée Sable Graves; three grandchildren, Damon, December and Donnie King III, all of Amarillo; six brothers, Ira King, Joe King, Johnnie King and Tracy King, all of Amarillo, Jerry King and wife Valorie of Dell City, Okla., and Jack King and wife Mary of Lubbock; four sisters, Carla Thomas and husband Robert, Amy King, Pamela King and Shelia King, all of Amarillo; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends.
Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
