RICHMOND, Ind. – Christine Roberts, age 88, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014, surrounded by loved ones at her grandson’s home in Indianapolis. Born April 18, 1926, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Christopher and Maranda Campbell Evans, Christine had been in Richmond since 1942. She was a 1947 graduate of the Reid Hospital Nursing School and worked as a nurse at Reid Hospital for several years. Christine was a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Richmond Senior Community Center. Survivors include her foster daughter, Phyllis Campbell; grandchildren, Rachel Wente, Kristi Campbell, Laura Campagna, Tricia Campbell, and Allen Wente; and five great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Roberts; three daughters, Susan Campbell, Doris Wente, and Karen Roberts; parents; sisters, Mabel Short and Marjorie Merritt; and brother, Don Evans. Visitation for Christine Roberts will be from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Smith officiating.
