SISTER BAY - Jeanne V. Romanshek, 70, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 9, 1996.

She was born in Racine on July 28, 1925, to the late Val and Valerie Dittmann. On August 23, 1946, in Kenosha, she was united in marriage to Robert Romanshek. They were a popular young couple in Kenosha.

She was a retired Exceptional Education Teacher at Washington and Starbuck Junior High Schools in Racine, where she was known as Mrs. R to all of her students. Jeanne was a member of the Professional Girl Scout Staff of Racine, Ki Omega Sorority of Lake Forest College, American Youth Christian Leadership Camp Council of Minniwanca, Mich., and Racine Womens Club.

Surviving are her husband, Robert; children, Mr. James W. (Gretchen) Romanshek, Mrs. William (Janice) Anchor, both of Racine, and Mr. Robert V. (Jean) Romanshek of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Maada, Brienna, Maura, Taira Romanshek, and Britte Anchor; and sister, Mrs. Charles (Nancy) Knoedler of Racine.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George.

Funeral services will be held at Sister Bay Moravian Church on Friday, April 12, 1996, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jane Harberg officiating. Interment will be in Little Sister Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Memorials to Sister Bay Moravian Church have been suggested.
