Beloved mother, grandparent and aunt, Jessie Carine Evans of Hermitage passed away at 7 a.m. Tuesday (10-7-14) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 98.

Mrs. Evans was born July 27, 1916, in Baltimore, a daughter of Frank and Margaret Arnao Carine.


She moved to the area early in life and was a graduate of Farrell High School.

Mrs. Evans was a self-employed beautician in her Hermitage home for 50 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon.

Her husband, William Edgar Evans, passed away in 1981.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mary Kovach and Eugene, Hermitage; and Donna Rae and her husband Jerry, West Middlesex; a son, William Charles Evans and his wife Nancy, Damascus, Md.; six grandchildren, Barbara Kovach Lowrey, Michael Eugene Kovach, William Evans Kovach, Gregory Carine Kovach, Debra Rae Kamuf and Shawn Evans Rae; eight great-grandchildren, Tami Lowrey Owen, Michael Lowrey III, Emily Rose and Megan Nicole Kovach, Evan Michael and Carina Rae Kamuf, Shawn Michael and Jacob Michael Rae; and two great-great-grandchildren, Laila and Logan Owen.

Besides her husband, Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary, wife of Richard Morocco; and Rose, wife of Anthony Bullano; three brothers, James, husband of Rose; Samuel, husband of Annette; and Joseph Carine; a great-grandson, Michael Lowrey III; and a beloved nephew, William Morocco.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
