Oma (Back) Hamilton was the daughter of John L. and Matilda (Whitaker) Back. She married William Henry Hamilton on July 14, 1934. They had five children: Bobbie J. (Hamilton) Brown, Billy G. Hamilton, Betty S. (Hamilton) Ison, Bessie L. (Hamilton) Shepherd and Bonnie K. (Hamilton) Salyers.

Oma Hamilton

Oma Hamilton died on Thursday, November 30, 1995 at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio. Oma was the daughter of the late John and Matilda Whitaker Back, born December 31, 1915, being 79 years, 10 months and 29 days of age at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hamilton. Survivors include one son, Billy G. Hamilton of Tiffin, Ohio; four daughters: Mrs. Vernon (Bobbie) Brown of Bellevue, Ohio; Mrs. Doyle (Betty) Ison of Aurora, Indiana; Mrs. Everett (Bessie) Shepherd of Whitesburg and Mrs. James (Bonnie) Salyers of Bell Alton, Maryland; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Oma Hamilton were conducted from the Chapel of the Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg on Monday, December 4, 1995 at 11 a.m. The officiating minister(s) have not been announced, while family members and friends served as pallbearers. Burial took place in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky.
