Obediah was the third of five brothers to come to Pennsylvania. He served during the Revolutionery War as a private and ranger of Captain Warford's Company (Bedford County Militia). Spouse #1 died, 13 days after childbirth of child #9, who survived. His child #17 & #18 were twins and were stillborn.
