Jim B. Rogers, 89, entered into rest on Sunday, October 5, 2014.
Jim was born on August 21, 1925 in Flynn's Lick, Tennessee to the late Sylvester and Pearl Boyd Rogers. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force in which he was a decorated aviator. Jim flew in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military, he became a successful realtor and developer, owning Rogers Real Estate for over thirty years.
Jim was very competitive and excelled in a variety of pursuits, enjoying tennis and golf in particular. He also participated and excelled in the Golden Olympics. Jim will be remembered to everyone who knew him as a devoted husband, "the best dad ever," according to his children, and a loyal friend to many.
In addition to his parents, his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Jessica B. "Pennie" Rogers; and siblings, Robert O. Rogers, Charles S. Rogers and Martha Mary Rogers, preceded him in death.
Jim's family would like to give a special thanks to his wonderful caregivers.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given In Memory of Jim B. Rogers to the Museum of Aviation Foundation, P.O. Box 2469, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
