Nicholas "Nick" Ray Ervin, 11, passed away at 4:10PM Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, in Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born August 21, 2003, in Marion, the son of Marvin Jr. and Leetta Poole Ervin.
Nick is survived by his parents, Marvin "Jake" Jr. and Leetta Ervin of Dongola; one sister, Jasmine; paternal grandmother, Carol Pennington of Sugar Grove, paternal stepgrandmother, Nancy Ervin of Dongola; three aunts, one uncle; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Marvin Ervin, Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Otha and Betty Poole.
Nick attended the Weaver Creek Baptist Church. He was a student at the Dongola Unit School 66 and enjoyed playing the trumpet in the school band.
Services will be held at the Dongola Unit School 66, with Pastor Jay Franklin officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Villa Ridge. Visitation will be at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
