She entered eternal rest at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center.
Roberta served her country in the United States Coast Guard, enlisting February 9, 1943. She received the rank of Chief Yeoman and received an Honorable Discharge from the Separation Center, Boston, Massachusetts on May 24, 1946. She remarked to her family, "It was three of the most enjoyable years of my life."
She was united in marriage to Dorse Hudson and one son, Gary, was born to this union. Dorse preceded her in death, as did her parents and one sister, Dorothy Mae Land.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Margaret Ann "Peggy" Hudson of Edwardsville, Il.; one brother, Robert Lee Land, Jr. of Steelville, Mo.; nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 in the Britton Chapel with Rev. Jim Simmons officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.
Serving as pallbearers were John Carr, Jeff Land, Natalice Radthe, Richard Risku, Robert F. Rohrer and Chris Turnbough.
