JEANNE M. (HARTSOUGH) TOBIN , 72, of Independence Village, Rockford, formerly of Freeport, died Sunday April 10, 1994 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She graduated from Freeport Senior High School in 1940 and attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated from Brown’s College of Commerce in Freeport. She was a lifetime member and past director of the Freeport YWCA and was a past director of the Girl Scout Day Camps at Apple River Canyon. She was a member of Embury United Methodist Church in Freeport. Born February 10, 1922 in Freeport, she was a daughter of Ned and Mildred (Holmes) Arganbright. She married James M. (Ted) Hartsough September 24, 1949 in Chicago. He died October 9, 1987 in Freeport. In July 1988 she married Edward M. Tobin in Freeport. Surviving are her husband, Edward, of Freeport; two daughters, Dr. Nicole (husband, David Leum) Hartsough of Rockford and Karen Erdman of Orange, California; one brother, Ned (Mary) Arganbright of Grand Rapids, Michigan; one sister, Anne (Robert) Krogull of Freeport, and four grandchildren. Her body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Association in Chicago. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Walker Mortuary, with the Rev. Stephen Aram of Embury United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Stephenson County Senior Center in Freeport.
