Marie A. “Rie” Barton of Norwalk died Friday, Oct. 3 following a car accident. She was 78. Ms. Barton was born May 7, 1936, in Norwalk, to Hugo and Anna Nelson Sauer. She was a graduate of Norwalk High School, Class of 1955, and worked for many years at the Norwalk Hospital as a cashier.Ms. Barton is survived by her children, Michele Thomas (Greg) of Richmondville, N.Y., Warren E. Barton, III (Nancy) of Huntly, Ill., and Doreen Steel (Tom) of Milford; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Warren E. Barton, Jr.
