On October 4, 2014 of Bethesda, MD from complications from heart disease. Wife of the late John P. Puhala. Beloved mother of Karen (John) Power, Kristine (Calvin) Beyer, Gregg Puhala, Gary Puhala, and Kim (JoAnne) Puhala. Loving grandmother of Jack, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Brendan; Preston, Peyton, Chandler, Chase, Cassidy; Connor, Joey; Kloee. Also survived by her brother Eugene Gray and nieces and nephews. Anita was predeceased by her parents Catherine and Frances Jerome Gray, her brother Jerome Gray, and sister Cathy Gray. Anita was a former nurse and a chaperone for Miss America. She loved the beach and traveling. She filled her life spending time with her children and grandchildren. Friends will be received at PUMPHREY'S BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE, INC, 7557 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda, MD on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. A Catholic Mass will be held at St Jane Frances De Chantal, 9601 Old Georgetown Rd, Bethesda, MD on October 9 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
