Mrs. Wm. C. Hagens died at her home near Pella at 6:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 1923, aged 82 years, 4 months , and 23 days. Her death was caused by paralysis and was quite unexpected. Mrs. Hagens was born in the Netherlands and was one of the 1847 pioneers. Her husband died a few years ago She is survived by three daughters and four sons. They are Mrs. H. C. Ver Ploeg, Mrs. Paul Renaud and Mrs. Arie Klyn, John of Pella, tone of Lynnville, Gerrit of Chicago, and Gradus of Casper, Wyo. Dr. Gerrit Hagens of Chicago was here to visit his mother earlier this month, but returned to his home and left for Wisconsin on a vacation trip. As this is written, he has not been located and funeral announcements can not be definitely made, although the expectation is that the service will be held Friday afternoon. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
