Brandi Diane Dickey, 33, earned her angel wings at home on October 3, 2014 after a strong fight with melanoma cancer.

A memorial service was held October 8, 2014, at Ash Creek Baptist Church, 300 S. Stewart St. in Azle.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in Brandi Dickey's name at Wells Fargo Bank for future use by the Brandi Dickey School Playground Shade Foundation.

Brandi, a lifelong area resident, was born, June 6, 1981 in Fort Worth, graduated from Azle High School in 1999. She had a pure heart of gold, touching anyone's life she came into contact with. She always loved Port Aransas and had some of her fondest memories there. Now you're sitting on the beach Brandi, you have Eternity in Paradise!

Brandi was preceded in death by her Papa, Emmitt Wayne Dickey of Azle.

Survivors include her mother, Paula Thornton Pittsinger; father, Emmitt Wayne Dickey, Jr. or "Bubba"; step-mother, Pam Dickey; grandparents, Ed and Olivia Elam; James and Shirley Thornton and Sue Dickey; brother, Christopher Shane Dickey; aunt, Jennifer Thornton Atkinson; nieces, Gracie Dickey and Emma Dickey; nephew, Zachary Eudy; and countless other family members, friends, children and loved ones who were blessed to have been a part of her life and journey.
