Daughter of Tom W. and Docia Isabelle Newton Freeman, was born near Mansfield, Mo.. She departed this life in St. John's Regional Health Center, in Springfield, Mo., at the age of eighty-seven years, seven months, and eighteen days.
On October 9, 1932, she was united in marriage to Chester "Chet" Taylor, and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chet, on January 21, 1999; a son, Carroll Taylor, on February 23, 1992; a daughter-in-law, Norma Taylor; and three sisters, Cremora Baker, Oma Craig, and Gladys Crewse.
Oleta is survived by a son, Warren Taylor, and his wife, Donna, of Mountain Grove, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Taylor, of Mansfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Cynthia Scruggs, of Springfield, Mo., Darren Taylor, and his wife, Kathy, of Marshfield, Mo., Mark Taylor, and his wife, Kelly, and Byron Taylor, all of Mansfield, Mo., Jeff Newton, and his wife, Karen, of Wildwood, Mo., Julie Branstetter, and her husband, Dennis, of Hartville, Mo., and Shelly Rothermich, and her husband, Larry, of Pomona, Mo.; fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Pauline Taylor, of Springfield, Mo.
She was born and raised in the Mansfield community. After she and Chet were married, they made their home near Mansfield, and lovingly raised their sons. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her family, Oleta worked outside the home at the Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory for over twenty years. She and Chet also owned and operated the Midwest Auto Store, an appliance store, a service station, and the old Mansfield Livestock Auction Barn throughout the years.
Oleta had made her profession of faith in Christ and attended the Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, and had made many lovely items that she shared with her family. She also liked working in her garden and visiting with her friends.
Oleta was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Services will be held in the Holman-Howe Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Mansfield Cemetery.
