Aberdeen - Memorial service for Kenneth L. Klovstad, 86, of Aberdeen, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen. Pastor Jeff Whillock of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will be officiating. Kenneth's wishes were to be cremated and burial of his cremated remains will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Mobridge, S.D., at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary, Tuesday. A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center. Kenneth passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital. Kenneth L. Klovstad was born May 24, 1919, to Thorvold and Matilda Klovstad at Rahm, N.D. where he was raised, attended Rahm Public School and graduated from Rahm High School. He started working for the Milwaukee Railroad where he was employed for many years. Kenneth entered the US Army Aug. 24, 1942. He served overseas during WWII and was involved with many battles in the European Theatre. He received his honorable discharge Sept. 7, 1945. He moved to Mobridge, S.D., and continued working for the Milwaukee Railroad. Kenneth married Lorraine Bodin June 22, 1948, at Mobridge. He was later transferred to Miles City, Mont., where they lived for a short time. In 1963, he was transferred to Aberdeen and have resided here since that time. Kenneth was employed for over thirty years with the Milwaukee Railroad and was a Train Dispatcher at the time of his retirement. Kenneth was a member of the American Legion and a past member of the North Dakota Masons. Kenneth enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and he was an avid golfer. Surviving Kenneth are his wife Lorraine of Aberdeen and one sister, Minerva Gonella of Seattle, Wash. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Judelle and Blanch.
