Book G, page 95.-The Last Will and Testament of Thomas Edwards of East Hampton in ye County of Suffolk upon ye Island of Nassaw being in his perfect and sound Memory as followeth Impri: I do give and Render My soul to God. my Maker in and throug ye Merrits of Jesus Christ My Blessed Redeemer And my body to desent burial at ye discretion of my Executors hereafter to be Named and for my Worldly goods I do dispose of them as followeth : Ith [1st] I give unto my beloved Wife Abigaill ye use of my dwelling House for and during the time of-her Widdowhood and one yeare Longer in Case she shall Marrv alsoe I doe give unto her four of my Neat Cattel which she shall Chuse And a hors or Mare the best I have at her Choyse Also I give her half of My household Goods; and My will Is that My son Ephraim or hee which Injoyes My home Land shall Winter for her four Cattel and pasture for her three Cattel in ye Summer time all ye time of her Widowhood as Also a horse or Mare

Item: I do give unto my sonne Ephraim all my Lands and Heriditament for ye full terme and space of Twelve years to be Compleated and Ended Next after My decease upon ye Conditions following: viz : that he perform the Conditions before Mentioned unto his Mother and also pay unto her yearly and every year six bushels of good Wheat Meale and ten bushels of good Indian Meale dureing all the time of her Widdowhood: And Also that he pay yearly and every year unto My sonn Thomas Edwards three pounds in Current pay dureing ye Aforesaid terme of twelve years: And I do give unto my said sonn Ephraim and to his heirs forever a lot of Meadow at Napege Next beyond Thomas Osborne and my third part of that lott of upland by Alewife brook path betwen ye Land of John Mulford and John Stretton as it was Given me by my father: And one Eighth part of a share at Meantauke which my father had of Natt foster: also my third part of a Lott of Land which Lieth nere hoog Creek as I had it of my father. All ye above said lands upon this Condition that after ye afforsd twelve years be Expired that he ye said Ephraim his heires & C: pay yearly and every yeare unto my sonn Thomas Dureing his Naturall Life ye sum of twenty shillings in Currant pay: Also I give him my sonn Ephraim one Cowe which hee shall Chose Next after his Mother: And I do hereby Constitute and Apoint him my sd sonn Ephraim Sole Executor of this my last will And Testament: I do give unto my sonn Daniel and to his heires for ever after ye terme and time before Exprest My house and all my home Land and my six Acre lot Next beyond John Miller senior: one Lott of Meadow att Acabonik: All my Medow at three mile harbour: a lott of Land about Eight acres at two mile hollow betwene Thomas and Beniamin 0sborne also that third part of Land and privilidge which my father gave me throwout ye town and at Meantauk: upon this Condition that he pay yearely and Every yeare unto my sonn Thomas fourty shilling in Currant pay from ye time that he shall posses ye above sd Lands until ye day of ye death of ye said Thomas Edward: I do give unto my sonn Thomas all my weareing Cloths: and to my son William one good Sheep: And my will is that all ye rest of my Moveable Estate both within and without dores Except that which is by these presents disposed of be equally devided between my seaven Children viz: Ephraim Daniel Abigal: Alec [Alice], Jane Elizabeth and Esther: and my share of ye hors mill to be to him which inioyes my house and home Land; witnes may hand this 20th day of January 1697-8.
