Berniece E. "Bunny" Farris, 92, of Cheyenne died Oct. 4 near Cheyenne.

She was born Aug. 14, 1922, west of Cheyenne to Charles and Myrtle Trefren. She grew up near the Hereford Ranch and attended school in Hillsdale. She married LaVerne Nicodemus in 1940, and they later divorced. She then married Billy J. Farris and was a homemaker with prior employment with Union Pacific Railroad.

She was a member of the Methodist church and Gold Star Mothers. She was a volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, putting in more than 10,000 hours working with veterans. She made more than 4,000 pillows for veterans.

She is survived by her children, Blanche Watrous of Desert Springs, Ariz., and Donald Farris of Cheyenne; brother, George "Joe" Trefren of Denver; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; children, Linda Detweiler and Dennis Farris; grandson, Jerry Farris; and siblings, Ruth Larson, Blanche Johnston, Richard Trefren, Bill Trefren, Ray Trefren, Jack Trefren, Archie Trefren, Jimmie Trefren and Stella Hatcher.
