Beulah L. Lumbard, 88, of Grand Island died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island with the Rev. Cheryl Lamb officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday until service time at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice.
Mrs. Lumbard was born Nov. 15, 1912, to John and Pansy (Butler) Guggenmos in Valley County. She was baptized by immersion in the Loup River. She attended the Taylor public schools and graduated in 1929.
Following graduation, she lived in Ord, where she owned and operated a photography studio with her sister. She moved in 1931 to Grand Island.
She married Laurence Lumbard on Jan. 18, 1931, at Ord. He owned and operated Lumbard/Leschinsky Studio. She tinted photos in her home for several years. She retired in 1972. Mr. Lumbard died in 1991. She continued to make her home in Grand Island.
Mrs. Lumbard was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed painting in oils and playing the violin.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Blumenfeld of San Diego and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Thelma Leonard.
