Samuel C. Vinson, 51, former resident of Fort Gay, WV, died Sunday, June 1, in a Chicago hospital, as a result of a fractured skull suffered in a fall down a flight of stairs. Mr. Vinson was a salesman born in Louisa, November 9, 1906, a son of the late William R. and Florence Crum Vinson. He was a veteran of World War II. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Curtright Funeral Home with the Rev. A. L. Moore officiating. Burial was made in the Vinson Cemetery, route 2, Fort Gay. Upon arrival Saturday morning the body was taken to the Funeral Home, where it remained until burial time. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Lyss Fluty of Fort Gay; one brother, Oscar J. Vinson of Huntington; two nieces and two nephews. Big Sandy News, June 12, 1958.
