Sarah Sophia Kellogg was born in New York state: 1846, daughter of Chester Kellogg and wife Sylvia Seekins. Sarah had siblings: Amos, Adelia, John, Nancy, Naaman, Harmon, Annette, Emma, Lina Kellogg; (Mother had 10 children).

Sarah first married David Childs on 11th of April, 1866, Iowa, and had daughter Anna A. Childs. (Her husband David was married previously to Catherine Kendal and had son Myers T Childs, born 1851 and daughter Orlethe "Lettie" born 1860. Catherine died 1874; David Childs died in 1896.)

Sarah's second marriage was to John George Beal, Jr, also in Iowa: 5th of August, 1899. He was age 80, she was 54 years old. On the 1900 census, with Sarah & John G. Beal, there is a 12 year old Myrtle Childs listed as a stepdaughter, born in April 1888 in Nebraska. I assume her to be daughter of David Childs but problem is that Sarah said on 1900 census that she was mother of only one child/one child living. Maybe she misunderstood the question and thought it meant child living with her at that time? John G Beal died in 1902; he is buried with his first wife Rebecca Uhl.

Sarah married to Lyman C Meracle, on 14 Feb, 1912 in Bradford County, Pennsylvania; she was 65 and he was 71 years old. Sarah and Lyman Meracle both died in 1914, about a couple weeks apart. The informant on Sarah's death certificate was her son in law, O. M. Walker (husband of Anna Childs) with whom Sarah lived in 1910. Lyman Meracle is buried by his wife Lovica.
