DEATH OF EDWIN SCOVILL
Old Resident of County Passes Away Friday Night.
Edwin Scovill, a native of Stephenson County, passed away at his home, 851 West Elk Street at 8:50 o'clock last evening, following a several weeks illness.
Mr. Scovill was a native of Bolton, having been born there on September 22, 1846. He was united in marriage on January 4, 1872, to Olive Roberts, who survives. To this union 10 children were born, 7 of whom survive. Mr. Scovill resided at Bolton until seventeen years ago when he moved with his family to the city having since made his home here.
He leaves the following children to mourn of his taking off; Mrs. Harry Stouffer, Mrs. Walter Whittbecker, Pearl Scovill, William and Warren Scovill, all of Freeport; Mrs. Bernard Foltz, residing near Ridott; James Scovill of Bolton. Thirteen grand children also survive.

Funeral of Edwin Scovill
Funeral services for the late Edwin Scovill will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home, Rev. M. D. Obenshain, of First M.E. church, officiating. Internment will be made in the city cemetery.
note: the Charles P & Claud D found in some ancestry trees do NOT belong to this family since parents, Edwin & Julia Olive Scovill are found in the 1880 Florence Twp., Stephenson Co., Illinois census, NOT in the 1880 Aspinwall, Nemaha Co., Nebraska census.
Edwin Scovill and his sister Rhoda (Scovill) Bolton, were both named in their Aunt Rachel Snyder's will after she died in Durham, Green County, New York State, Feb 1887, as published in the legal notice of the Catskill Recorder in 11 Mar 1887.
