Mary Jane Ware's father and mother were Pleasant Ware and Jane Estele (AKA Estelle, Estell).
Their marriage had been on Mar 22, 1808 in Augusta Co, Virginia.
So far we have been unable to find a burial for Pleasant. He is last listed on the 1840 census in Augusta County, Virginia. Most likely he died in Augusta County, family has his birth as Mar 23, 1780 Virginia, and his death as Aug. 14, 1842 Virginia.
Widow Jane, and most or all of the children, moved to Indiana around 1843, right after Pleasant' death.
---------------------
Mary married Samuel Morgan Shortridge in Henry County, Indiana on August 20, 1846: they had at least 9 children together during their, approximately, 35 year long marriage.
Mary Jane and her husband divorced shortly after the 1880 census taken in Des Moines, Iowa.

Her husband remarried on May 8, 1883 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, to Nellie A. Gallagher.
( Samuel, was also an attorney at times, he handled the divorce and child custody, of Mary Jane's nephew, William Montgomery Ware, who was living with them on the 1870 census)
---
Mary's daughter, Eva, and her husband moved to Pawnee City, Pawnee County, Nebraska at the same time frame as her mother around 1883.
Mary's son, Samuel Benton Shortridge, also moved there to Pawnee county, Nebraska with his mother and sister.
Mary remarried there to Francis H. Butler on May 13, 1885 in Pawnee City, Pawnee County, Nebraska.

This is the correct Mary Jane Ware, as she states her parents names on the marriage certificate.
Mary's 2nd marriage certificate states that Mary is a resident of Pawnee County at the time of marriage in 1885.
Francis Butler was previously married and his wife died in 1883 in Nebraska.

Mary's son, Samuel Benton, married while there for his 1st marriage and soon had 2 children: they divorced about 1900.
Samuel B. then moved to Fresno county, CA to live by his 2 brothers, who are listed below.
---
A few years after Mary's divorce, two other sons of Mary and Samuel Shortridge, Elias Lincoln Shortridge and Edward Shortridge, showed up living in Fresno County, California. Have now found the graves of Elias, Edward, and Samuel Benton.
They are now all linked to their parents, Samuel Morgan and Mary Jane, here on findagrave.
A contributor says that the two sons, Elias and Edward, were mentioned in their father's Will; records of which are located in Phoenix, AZ..
---
Samuel Morgan's second wife was A.K.A. as Elena A., Ellena A., Eleanor Gallagher, Ellen Agnes Galagher.
Ellena & Samuel also had several children together; have been able to find and link up several of them here on findagrave.
Was able to find and link Elena 'A'. Galagher Shortridge and their daughter Ellena Margaret/Shortridge/Sheridan/Koehler, after they were again living together, back in Des Moines Co, Iowa after living for many years at the Shortridge Ranch, outside Tucson, AZ. Territory.
-------------

Currently linking up the father of Samuel Morgan, John Franklin Shortridge, to the family.
John, at age 79, was living with Samuel M. and Mary Jane on the 1880 census in Iowa just before John died.
