Kent D. Brown, 58, of Newton, Illinois, formerly of Blue Mound, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born August 26, 1956 in Decatur, the son of Raymond A. and Phyllis A. (Hopkins) Brown. He is survived by his mother Phyllis A. Brown and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and sisters, Lynette and Jeanette.
He taught English and Speech for 30 years at Effingham High School and was a tennis coach in Effingham.
