Norma Lee McDonald Karr was born on the Old McDonald Farm January 17, 1926, one mile south of the Old Star School on Hwy. 169 in Oologah, Rogers Co., Oklahoma. She went to be with her Lord, at home, at 3:44 p.m., Monday, March 25, 2013, surrounded by her family. She is survived by a large loving family; son and daughter-in-law, James and Lisa Karr; son, Alan Karr and girlfriend Ms. Chris Prestridge; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Karr Talbot and Steve Hinds; granddaughter Nikki and her husband, Michael Pierce; granddaughter Michele Talbot and her fiance', Joey Cox; granddaughter Amber and her husband, Hans Ersrud; granddaughter Kristen and her husband Jacob Shoemake; granddaughter, Magan Karr and her fiance', Dustin Everhardt; grandsons, Jeremy Talbot and Ryan Hinds; granddaughter Samantha Hinds; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Peyton, Hailey, Kadlin, Kasen, Brooke, Braylen and Brayden; sister, Beverly Courtney of Peoria, IL; brother, Robert McDonald of Collinsville, OK; sister-in-law, Letha McDonald of Corpus Christi, TX and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Karr; brothers, Mervyn and Mayo McDonald; parents, Lester and Ethel McDonald; infant son, Chester Karr and grandsons, Chris and Sean Harris. The family wishes to thank the many friends and extended family for their outpouring of love and support, including the Dorcus class of Parkview Baptist Church. A very special thanks to the caregivers that took care of her during these past few months: Ms. Senette, Ms. Shivon, Ms. Summer, Ms. Carol, Ms. Sue and the entire Amedisys Home Health & Hospice staff. Arrangements being handled by and located at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will resume on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Norma Karr to Parkview Baptist Church with designation for foreign missions.
