Mr. Rist was born August 23, 1895, in Mansfield and had always lived here. He was a retired mail carrier, a member of the First Christian Church, Venus Lodge 152, F and AM, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus, Al Koran Temple of Cleveland, Mansfield Shrine Club, Baku Grotto, the Masonic Veterans Assn..
Surviving are his wife, Esther Barth Rist; one brother, Paul Rist of Mansfield; three sisters, Mrs. Leo (Viola) Smith of Columbus, Mrs. Florence Esterline of Clyde, OH, and Mrs. Gladys Daugherty of Mansfield.
Services will be held Monday afternoon at the Wappner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at the funeral home Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
