Stephen B. Kogut “Barry,” age 67, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2014 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born March 18, 1947, a native of Jacksonville, and son to the late Stephen and Barbara Kogut.

Barry was known to be the mechanic extraordinaire. He could fix anything. He enjoyed bowling and pro stock racing. He was a devoted Christian who loved to share God’s word and his love for Jesus.

He is survived by his children, Scott (Linda) Kogut, Leah (Ian) Kosiek and Shannon Williams; grandchildren, Logan and Emma Kogut; special grand dog Millie; brother, Stanley (Debbie); sister, Janice Broughman; his devoted sweetie, Joyce Barwick and many other family members and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years Brenda and brothers, Ronnie and Richard.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, October 5 with funeral service to follow at noon at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice>
