Henry Pierson, whose home is a few miles north of Atlantic came down with his family to visit relatives some nine miles north-west of Griswold a few weeks ago. Before they had their visit out Mr. Pierson was taken down with the rheumatism which went to his heart and caused his death Friday night. He was buried in the Smith cemetery two miles north of Griswold Saturday afternoon, the funeral being very private as two younger members of Mr. Pierson's family are down with scarlet fever and consequently no public services could be had. In her sad bereavement Mr. (Mrs.) Pierson has the heartfelt sympathies of a large circle of neighbors and friends.
(Henry was actually buried in the Flint Cemetery with other brothers/sister and his parents.)
Additional Notes: Henry was a twin to Sophronie Ellen Pierson Smith. They were born to Granville and Elizabeth Fray Pierson on March 8, 1862 in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Henry was married to Rachel E. Gain (sp?) August 4, 1887 in Lewis, Iowa.
