Born in Provo, Utah, to Clinton R. and Nadine Taylor, Teri Taylor Powell, 50, of Rigby passed after a battle with cancer. Married Rich Grant Powell August 1, 1974 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Graduating as co-valedictorian from Hillcrest High School in Midvale, Utah, Class of 1973, summa cum laude from Brigham Young University in education , Class of 1986, and with a master's degree in education administration from Idaho State University. Taught at Harwood Elementary School in Rigby and in Jefferson School District for 12 years. Became principal of Kinghorn Elementary School and the new Jefferson Elementary School, which received numerous state recognitions during her tenure. An active member of LDS church served in the presidency of the Primary and Relief Society organization.

Survived by husband, Rich; children: Jason (Judy) Powell, Erika (James) Moss, Taylor Powell, Toni (Justin) Price, Shelli (Hugh) Staiger, Curtis Powell; parents: Clint and Nadine Taylor; siblings: Lisa (Tom) Freeman, Kyra (Neil) Morris, Stacy (Jacob) Buhler, Stewart (Anne) Taylor, Brent (Laura) Taylor; and eight grandchildren.
