Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 1 at 2 p.m. at Frederick's Funeral Home in Opelika with the Rev. Steve Scoggins officiating. Burial will follow in Garden Hills Cemetery.
Mr. Chandler is survived by four daughters, Brenda Sue Chandler and Nancy Parker, both of Valley, Merita Forrester of Opelika and Gloria Carpenter of Albany, Ga.; his son, Truman Albert Goree of Gadsden, Ala.; his sister-in-law, Jewel Goree of Opelika; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Born Sept. 23, 1916 in Lee County, Mr. Chandler was retired from WestPoint Pepperell. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion Post 0152 in Opelika. He was also a member of First Assembly of God on Simmons Street in Opelika.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 1 from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at Frederick's Funeral Home.
