Terri Lynn McKinney, nee Newlin, 41, St. Clair, died in Sullivan Monday, July 8, 2002.
She was born at Carbondale, Illinois, September 29, 1960, the daughter of Amos Newlin Jr. and wife Betty Jean, nee
Mitchell.
On April 27, 1985, she was united in marriage to Jimmie Rodgers McKinney and was the mother of two children.
Terri was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Clair.
She was employed by Pauwels Transformers,Washington.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Newlin; and her foster parents, Dorsey and Angie Deitz.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie McKinney, St. Clair; two daughters, Katie McKinney and Kelsie McKinney,both of St. Clair; her father, Amos Newlin, Herrin, Illinois; two sisters, Doris Deitz, Murphysboro, Illinois, and Phyllis Newlin, Fairfield, Illinois; one brother, Mike Deitz, Murphysboro, Illinois; her stepdaughter, Rachel Bussett and husband Curtis, Oklahoma; her father-in-law, Ellis McKinney and wife Diana, Vienna; her mother-in-law, Lillian Vinyard and husband James, Freeburg; two stepgrandchildren; brothers- and sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles; nieces;nephews; great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 12, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church,St. Clair,with Pastor Craig Fenske officiating.
Interment was in Indian Hills Cemetery, De Soto, Illinois.
Memorials to the McKinney Children Education Fund are preferred.
The McKinney family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
