Big Stone Gap VA. Ann Delph Wade, age 76, passed into the loving arms of her sweet Savior on October 2, 2014 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tn., thankful for the many seasons God bestowed upon her even during the suffering her earthly body endured the past several years. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.
A native of Lee County, VA. and a resident of the Dryden area most of her life, Ann also lived in Loudoun County, VA. for 12 years with her husband, Benjamin and had two children while living there. In 1972 they moved back to Lee and Wise counties where she and Ben have lived for the past 7 years. Ann worked in several garment factories in the early 1970’s then worked for Norris Industries in Duffield, VA. from 1976 until she retired in 1997.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Alec and Mae Stidham Delph; four brothers, Charles Delph, Elmer Hall Delph , and two infant brothers; four sisters, Bonnie Johnson, Mildred Coomer, Lilly Russell , and Corrienna Wade.
Ann is survived by her husband of 54 years, Benjamin Wade of the home; daughter, Lois Porter and husband, Brian of Wise, VA. son, Mark Wade and granddaughter, Kari Wade of Big Stone Gap, VA; two brothers, George Frank Delph of Jonesville, VA and William Douglas Delph of Ewing, VA. She is also survived by her faithful companion dog, Skyler, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday (Oct 4, 2014) at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W. Big Stone Gap, VA. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Donnie Pickett officiating.
Graveside services will be Sunday (Oct 5, 2014) at 1 P.M. at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home to leave at 12:30 P.M.
Family and friends will be pallbearers.
