Osburn Delbert Thompson, was born December 18, 1921 in the Thompson Hollow of the Lower Turkey Creek community, the son of the late William Green and Martha Alton Thompson. He departed this life Saturday evening at the Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

On September 6, 1942 he united in marriage with Zella Juanita Young Thompson, who passed away March 31, 1996. To this union six children survive: Bobby Thompson, Eloise Decker, Betty Decker, Kenneth Thompson, Marilyn Simpson and Pamela Tucker. An infant daughter: Matrice precedes him in death.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and expecting three more soon, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Osburn was the last surviving member of the WG Thompson family. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Evay Foster, Lula Angeline Morrow, Dewey, Obie, Silas, Jerry, Austin Lewis and Irvin Thompson.

As a young man he accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Lick Creek Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of the Shiloh Baptist Church at the time of his passing.
