Katherine Ruby Carr, a lifelong resident of Wingdale, NY died on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. Mrs. Carr was a therapy aide at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY for 25 years retiring in 1988. Following her retirement she worked for several home health care agencies providing care to the elderly. Born on November 2, 1933 in Copake, NY she was the daughter of the late Merlon and Marion (Quinlan) White. On November 17, 1951 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains, NY she married Frederick Carr who predeceased her on August 12, 2005.

She is survived by her two sons, Kyle Carr and his wife, Melissa of Catawba, NC and Jeffrey Carr and his wife, Regina of Wingdale, NY; two daughters, Sherry Bolton and her husband William of Sandusky, OH and Deborah Gruendle and her husband, Jay of Pawling, NY; and a sister, Juanita Benson of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Jay and Scott Gruendle, Stacy Gaerte, Joel Woodling, Amanda, Ashley and Michael Carr, Jeffrey Tuck, Alissa Head and Cheyanne Carr; and eight great-grandchildren, Mia, Evan, Luke, Vynessa, Lexi, Damen, Isabella and Madison; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Carr was predeceased by her brother, Eugene White and her sister, Merlva "Dolly" Dean.

Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Funeral services will take place at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Anthony Bacino officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY.
